GIORGIO BEVERLY HILLS
Brand Origins & Legacy
Founded in 1961 by Fred Hayman (alongside partner George Grant), Giorgio Beverly Hills began as a glamorous luxury boutique on Rodeo Drive, becoming one of its first prestigious storefronts under a signature yellow and white striped awning
The boutique was more than just shopping it offered a reading room, billiards, and an oak bar to make luxury an experiential lifestyle
From Boutique to Fragrance Legend
In 1981, the brand launched its first fragrance, Giorgio, with tremendous fanfare—including a lavish launch party positioning it as a symbol of 1980s luxury
The original scent captured the decade’s glamour with powerful floral notes and became a cultural icon, so dominant that its strong presence occasionally led some venues to ban it for overpowering food scents
